What a great day of auditions! We started at 7:45am with check in, surveys of the cast, donations collection, and apparel distribution. Warm-ups got our voices in good shape for the day, and then we heard three rounds of auditions: one for the Cat in the Hat, one for women’s roles, and one for men’s roles. The directors were impressed with student preparation, and they struggled with the difficult decisions of assigning roles.
Some highlights of the day:
- Elle Thomas managed the check in table like a pro
- Sean Vetter and Allison Heinzelmann created some great photo memories
- Senior leadership over and over made the day efficient and fun
- Allie Filmanowicz and Danny Mahlum were already planning tomorrow’s activities while still auditioning for today’s casting
- Students were prepared to audition for any part, and several students could have been cast in any of the roles
- We met new people and especially enjoyed meeting Mitch and Parker, our JoJos.
- The parent food committee kept us happy with breakfast, snacks, and lunch. THANK YOU MOMS!
The plan for tomorrow:
-Firetruck picture (if the rain ever stops)
-Head shots for the directory
-Vocal and dance rehearsals
-Senior speeches
-Rookie introductions
-More great food - THANK YOU MOMS!
Thank you to the Fox Family for the party following today’s auditions.
